[Contract Saga: Kai Vol.4 World’s Guidance]is on sale 27 January 2024!

In this year, we expanded the playstyle of [Contract Spirit Card] by combining [Contract Spirit Card] and [Brave Card] as well as reconstructing Ultimate card. As mentioned in the previous letter, there will be a very rare case of no new gimmicks. I am sure some will be disappointed that there is no new gimmicks unlike previous years. But I feel that decks with [Contract Spirit Card] can still be expandable and with the consideration of slowing down counter gain, we decided to not include new gimmicks.

As a result, we have maintained the meta to be revolving around maximizing the [Contract Spirit Card] decks. Hence, as compared to decks from [Contract Saga], [Contract Saga: Kai] has an advantage of being able to use effects outside of their original colors through [Brave Engage]. On the other hand, to attain victory, apart from [Contract Descent] cards, there is still a need to brave engage. As the number of cards needed is very high, the new decks this year have not brought about too big of a change in the meta. As the intention was to control the speed of the game, it is very difficult to adjust each deck’s power. Resulting in the new cards having relatively small impact on the meta, as compared to the new cards, the older decks distribution is more prominent on the meta. We feel that we have not achieved the intention to bring fresh battling experience. [Super Contract Descent] and [The LOVERS] were released in [World’s Guidance], look forward to how the new cards from [Contract Saga: Kai] can bring about changes in the meta.

In addition, regarding the secret version of [XV Rare] illustrated by new illustrators, [The ArcAngelia Valiero XV] from [World Guidance] was unable to have its secret version recorded due to various reasons, the secret version of [The ArcAngelia Valiero XV] will be recorded on its own in the next set. For everyone that has been looking forward to it, we are terribly sorry. We seek your understanding on this.

The Petit Series of Contract Spirit cards was recorded in [Contract Saga: Kai Vol.4 World’s Guidance], bringing the multiverse story to its peak. As this is the update worthy of the final battle in Vol.4, be sure to start playing it!

As announced a few days ago on Next Plan, the next Banned and Limited Card revision plan will be announced after [Battle Spirits Championship 2023 ASIA FINAL] in March. Please look forward to it.

In addition, the Banned and Limited Card revision was discussed around Autum ~ Spring in the previous years, but as it was deemed to have no need for a revision, we decided to postpone it. The revision of Banned and Limited Card list will also be updated according to the meta with no fixed period. We seek your understanding on this.

Also, there will be a new [Pair Ban] in the next Banned and Limited Card list. [Pair Ban] refers to cards that cannot be placed together on the same deck. If the card is independent, 3 of the same copy can be placed in the deck as normal, however you will be unable to include 1 and 2 copy of each in deck construction. In the next Banned and Limited Card list, we will be including [Dark Tower] and [Tower of Darkness] that is set to be released in [Mega Deck the Manifestation of the Sun God] in the [Pair Ban]. We decided to produce this replacement card as it is a card that is widely used but difficult to attain and due to various reasons, we are unable to reprint the card. Also, regarding cards that are featured in Collaboration sets, there will be replacement cards for them as it is very difficult to reprint them due to various reasons. We will only produce the replacement card if we deemed the card to have an impact on the meta. As it is the first time we are doing this, there may be some that are affected by this. We seek your understanding on this matter.

The new series, [Contract Saga: Shin] will begin in 2024! In [Contract Saga: Shin], the new card type, [Contract GranWalker Nexus] will be featured as the final gimmick of [Contract Card]. Apart from GranWalker Hades from Olym, Apollo from [Mega Deck the Manifestation of the Sun God] and other GranWalker nexuses that have been recorded in the game will also be featured as Contract card. With the new force, the battles will be brought to the new stage.

[Contract Saga: Shin] will also be a continuation of [Contract Saga], set to release cards that revolve around [Contract Card]. Although [Contract GranWalker Nexus] is a new card type, we will not be releasing a big scale of new gimmicks. New gimmicks may be topical and have many benefits, like bringing about new players to provide fresh battling experience, there is a risk of speedy counter gain on the other hand. As such, Contract GranWalker Nexus has the power to fight against the current meta. Although we cannot totally stop the speedy counter gain, we decided to not produce new gimmicks as we are ensure the steady growth of Battle Spirits that is welcoming its 15th Anniversary this year. We are terribly sorry towards everyone that have been looking forward to new gimmicks, but Contract GranWalker Nexus a very interesting card. Please look forward to it.

[Contract GranWalker Nexus] is a card that has been planned since the beginning of [Contract Saga]. It was planned to start from Contract Spirit Cards that is the center of BS and then expanded to Contract GranWalker Nexus. Contract GranWalker Nexus is a powerful GranWalker Nexus that you must have, and will be a strong base for battle, hence making people fear that it may be a deck that will has higher power and stability. In the GranWalker meta, every deck has the same issue of [First using God Seekers to find GranWalker] and having this weakness removed is a big advantage. As such, we have made various adjustments according to the current meta and produced Contract GranWalker Nexus. As for the results, please look forward to upcoming information.

The first BS Collaboration event, [GUNDAM CUP 2024], was hosted from January 2024. As it is the first official Collaboration event, we have also explored the different play style of limiting the battles to only Gundam deck, bringing a fierce battle that is different from the usual ones. As [GUNDAM CUP 2024],has brought about good reviews, we are considering the possibility of hosting other Collaboration related events. Please look forward to it.

[Battle Spirits Championship 2023] ASIA FINAL will be hosted at Makuhari Messe International Exhibition Hall(Japan) on 2nd March 2024. As the meta will also include Vol. 4, the battles is expected to be even more intense. Please look forward to it!
