From April 2026 onwards, Battle Spirits will be having 2 battle modes: [Eternal Format] which allows all past cards aside banned cards, and [Standard Format] which only allows cards released after April 2026.

Eternal

Allows all cards released thus far apart from banned cards. And of course, that includes cards that will be released from April 2026 onwards. You can choose to include cards from the vast variety to create your personalized deck to enjoy the game.

Standard

Only cards released from April 2026 onwards can be used. As more products get reelased, the usable cards get rotated which allows new Battle Spirits players to also enjoy the game easily.

To Simplify the current battle Spirits' card effects and rules, we did adjustments to the current rules.

Apart from that, in order to accommodate to the Standard format, we will also be including new effects and mechanics to maintain the simplicity but also make it more in-depth at the same time. Our aim is to allow both current and new Battle Spirits players, or those that once left, to enjoy this card game.

There will be 2 modes for Battle Spirits Championship in 2026, [Eternal] and [Standard] formats. Players can choose to specialize in either format and of course, challenge to attain good results in both formats. We welcome you to enjoy the championship in any method!

To incorporate [Eternal] and [Standard], as well as increasing Battle Spirits' popularity, Battle Spirits anime will return in the form of long-awaited TV animation series!
As this is a brand-new production and different from the previous otherworldly series, there will be new characters in a new world's setting. Please look forward to more information!

Many players might be surprised by the contents of [Battle Spirits Shin Kaihou Project]. We are incorporating [Eternal] and [Standard] from April 2026 onwards. We believe that players that love Battle Spirits will be able to continue enjoying the game. We will also focus on allowing you to enjoy Battle Spirits. As there will be rotation in [Standard] format, we will also simplify the card test and adjust basic rules of the game, allowing returning players or those that are new to the game can all enjoy the game.
[Eternal] format allows all cards in the pool, apart from banned cards, hoping that the players that have been enjoying Battle Spirits can continue to enjoy the format of using old cards.

Also, to further push [Battle Spirits Shin Kaihou Project], we also decided to produce the long-awaited TV anime series! As it will be a series that have a different style as compared to the past series. Please look forward to more information on it!
