Currently, there is only 1 main step and now, we will be adding 1 main step after the attack step.

Having a main step after attack step allows you to use the cores on spirits that have attacked to summon new blockers to get ready for your opponent's assaults.

What is [Shin Kaihou]?

《Shin Kaihou》 is a strengthened state of a spirit or nexus card.
By placing a designated number of cores, or soul core, can upgrade it to its [Shin Kaihou] state.
Also, some effects can only be activated under the state of [Shin Kaihou].

Using this card as an example, it will be in [Shin Kaihou] state by having 2 cores or 1 soul core on it.
The effect when attacking beside the [Shin Kaihou] can only be activated when it is under the [Shin Kaihou] state.
Together with the second main step introduced earlier on, after a spirit with [Shin Kaihou] attacked, you can move the cores to other spirit or nexus card to have it enter [Shin Kaihou] state.

What is 《EX Symbol》

It is a special symbol required for 《EX Reduction》
Outside the use of《EX Reduction》，it is treated as a regular symbol.

What is 《EX Reduction》

By banishing cards in your trash with [EX Symbol] when you play the card from hand, 1 reduction symbol can be fulfiled for each of them banished this way.

Outside of being used for [EX Reduction], it will be treated as a normal symbol.
Newly added [EX Symbol] and [EX Reduction] effect which utilises the symbol.
Reduction symbol and the reduction system is the key element for Battle Spirits. In the past, if there are no symbols, you cannot fulfil the reduction. When your opponent wipes your board, it is very difficult to come back.
But with the newly added [EX Symbol] and [EX Reduction], you can also fulfil the reduction even in trash, making it easier to make a comeback after a board wipe.
Also, by placing cards with [EX Symbol] in the trash early, can make it easier to call cards out. This strategy will give the game more depth.

What is 《Soul Magic》

When you have the designated color symbol on field, you can play the magic card by paying a soul core.

You may play the card by paying the regular cost, or play it by paying 1 soul core, turning the tides around.

Change of deck size

In the past, deck building rules states that the deck size is [40 cards and above] but will now be changed to [Exactly 50 cards]. As the deck size changes, the play set limit will also be changed from [3 pieces] to [4 pieces] for cards of the same name. As the upper limit is broadened, more cards can be included, making the possibility for deck building more versatile.

Regarding the preparation of battle

Standard battle preparation will be as follows：

①Deciding which player goes first
②Draw 4 cards from the deck and check the contents
③Player going first decides whether or not to mulligan first, then second player decides.
*If mulligan is decided, return all cards to the bottom of the deck and draw 4 new cards. Shuffle the deck Limited to maximum of 1 mulligan per player
④Set the cores for life and reserve

Having a mulligan at the start of the game allows a higher strategic Battle Spirits.

『Standard Demo Sesssion』allows players to test the new Standard cards first hand that will be released next year's [Battle Spirits Shin Kaihou Project]. We have introduced the cards used in demo sessions for standard will be in trial stage. We hope to receive feedbacks after testing out the new format.
