[Contract Saga: Kai Vol.1 Flash Blade] is on sale from 27th May!

Even though [Flash Blade] is the first series of product for [Contract Saga: Kai Vol.1], there was no [new gimmick] like previous years but opened the new series’ prologue. Originally, [new gimmick] was implemented to accommodate the year’s anime. Last year, we released the [new gimmick], [Contract card], which we received good reviews on. Also, [Ultimate Contract card] was released after the [Contract card] using [Contract spirit] as a kickstart, letting players explore more possibilities. Even though, it is out of the norm in this situation, we decided that the current meta does not need to have a [new gimmick] and started a new series without the [new gimmick].

Even though there are no [new gimmicks], a new battling experience and change of meta is needed. As such, we developed other cards to combo, revolving around [Contract spirit card], to allow new deck ideas. We placed our focus on Braves to be partnered with spirits and developed 3 [Contract spirit card]. In [Contract Saga: Kai], we will continue to provide gimmicks revolving around [Contract spirit]. Please look forward to the new cards!

In addition, apart from the new [contract spirit] decks in [Flash blade], this set has another motive, which is to take precautions against the speed of the current meta. For example, as per explained in the banned and limited list which came into effect on 1st May, in the later part of [Contract Saga], it became very common to see games ending in merely a few turns. In order to cop with the meta, we changed it into a game with more strategical value using the banned and limited list. Many cards are banned or limited due to this list. There were some which were released or reprinted not long before the list, which caused many battlers to be unhappy. I am deeply apologetic for it. A part of the reason for this is due to members of our team not being well versed enough. Of course, we are still trying to develop products which would not be banned or limited, but in order to make the meta better, we will still ban or limit a card, even if they just got released or reprinted recently, should we decide that the card is impacting the meta too much. We hope to seek your understanding.

In the decks constructed revolving the [Contract spirit card] from [Flash Blade], we included many effects to protect the player’s life. We feel that this method of defense is an effect what a part of battlers like. We will implement different effects to change the meta. Moving forward, we will continue to monitor the change that these effects will bring in the meta.

Also, [XV Rare] is featured as the new rarity type in [Flash Blade]. The [XV Rare] cards are being developed to commemorate Battle Spirits’ 15th anniversary and the 15th anniversary of anime, [Battle Spirits Shonen Toppa Bashin]. X rare cards from the [Shonen Toppa Bashin] will be featured the whole of this year. With the featuring of [XV Rare] cards, there will not be any [XX rare] cards in this saga. [XV Rare] cards will be easier to get as compared to [XX Rare] cards and would be more suitable for the construction of decks. Be sure to reminisce the old spirit cards while you battle.

Apart from that, we also released [Flash Blade Starter Set] which includes booster packs and pre-arranged cards. As the beginning of Battle Spirit’s 15 years of history, we designed the product with the motto of allowing battlers that have not been playing the games after a long period of time to pick the game up easily. In order to allow the battlers to experience the gimmicks of [Contract Card] and Brave, apart from the regular Contract X rare and X rare cards, staple cards are also included, which makes me feel that this is a good chance to begin playing Battle Spirits. Also, talking about new product users, even though there are Pre-constructed starter decks, a [Starter set] is different due to its characteristics of being able to open sealed packs and construct your own deck. If you have friends who are still hesitating to start Battle Spirits, please be sure to recommend [Flash Blade Starter Set]. [Draft Booster Revolving Miracle] where Sealed or Draft Battle can be enjoyed upon purchasing booster packs is scheduled to be on sale on 29th July!

[Revolving Miracle] is a new product as a commemoration of Battle Spirits’ 15th Anniversary. 2 types of Battle can be enjoyed from this product, One of which is a casual Sealed Battle where decks can be formed with cards from the booster packs, where the other type is the Draft battle where battlers pick 1 card from every pack in a rotational basis to build a deck. In addition, recorded cards outside of X Rare will be remade cards from the era of [Shonen Toppa Bashin] with a different style from [XV rare] cards, to enjoy the nostalgia of old school Battle Spirits. This will be the first appearance of a 6 colored reduction symbol where it could satisfy any of the 6 colors when reducing cost, designed to immediately allow the start of Sealed or Draft battle. [Premium Card Set Ultraman Ultraman New Light] and [Premium Card Set Evangelion Assembled Thoughts] will be on sale 15th and 29th July respectively!

It will be the premium card set for Collaboration cards since [Premium Card Set Shin Ultraman]. Each set includes new cards and reprinted cards with alternate illustration which can be freely included in your current decks. Battlers that love collaboration cards should not miss this! Also, there will be more collaboration cards being released in the form of premium card sets. Even though, there will be Collaboration booster packs set for the year, but as it is Battle Spirits’ 15th Anniversary, there will be a lot of products related to the main series being planned, hence there will be lesser Collaboration booster packs as compared to previous years. As such, we will prepare for more Premium card sets in order to provide more collaboration cards. Please stay tuned for more news.

Recently, we released the news of [Battle Spirits Championship 2023]. This will be the championship to decide the No.1 in Asia after 4 long years, improve yourself with the goal of being Asia’s No.1!

As products are entering the new series [Contract Saga: Kai], we have also made a change to [Shop Battle]. The participation prizes for [Shop Battle] will be reprinted cards with the popular Contract spirits’ illustrations. The winner prize will be set as [PXV Rare] from [PX Rare] cards from [Shonen Toppa Bashin]. Make a guess which [PXV rare] card will be the next winner card. Stay tuned.

From July onwards, as a substitute to [Friendly Battle], there will be a [Battle Spirits Collaboration Shop Battle]. This is for battlers that enjoy playing with Collaboration cards that we designed a tournament which restricts to the use of only Collaboration decks. If you have always wanted to use Collaboration decks but find it hard to stand a chance, do not miss this chance! Also, in the [Battle Spirits Collaboration Shop Battle], we prepared new and reprinted card with Collaboration characters’ artworks as participation prize.

Regarding [Battlers Cup EX], we put the 3on3 on hold and designed it to be individual battles. We also changed the winner prize and even though the card was a participation card in [Shop Battle], we did a Winner texture on it. We will change the winner prize periodically, participate with the aim to win the promo card!

[Battlers Cup], which tests Battle Spirits players’ strength, will be hosted normally after the release of main set and will have various new winner promos. Regarding the promo cards, there will be a change after the release of Vol.2, for battlers that wish to win the winner promos, do head to your nearest card shop to take part in the [Battlers Cup]!

Up until last year, to prevent Covid-19 from spreading, with the lack of knowledge of when tournaments will be stopped, we were unable to constantly change the winner promo as we considered for the battlers that wishes to win the promos but did not enter tournaments. From this year onwards, due to the reopening of country, we will constantly change the winner promos so that battlers can join more tournaments. We thank you for your understanding.
