『 Contract Saga Vol.4 Beyond Evolution 』is officially on sale from Jan 29!

Apart from the 3 new contract spirit cards, [Partner Ruffian, Vrick], [Partner Cat, Fermat] and [Wanderer Dan’s Bladra], the powerful spirit that supports [Contractor X], [THE JUDGEMENT] makes its appearance. To battle against it, [Wanderer Dan]’s contract spirits gained a brand new power and their [Super Contract Radiant Descent] cards are also featured.

The final 2 [Contract Spirit Card] of [Contactor X]. White Contract spirit card, [Partner Ruffian, Vrick] is designed to gain counter when it attacks. It also used the effect that is rarely seen recently, [Poison Blade], combined with [Face down] effect. The addition of [Face down] card to a [Contract Spirit] to activate effects is a new strategy, it also covers the weakness of a white deck which is its weak draw power. Hence, this was made as the theme.

On the other hand, the illustration for [Partner Machine, Stark] is based on modern machinery style, opposing to [Vrick]’s simple steam punk style. The mechanics of [Face Down] card may be interesting but also more complicated at the same time, and making it a more intricate weakness. To overcome this weakness, instead of giving opponent [Face Down] cards like [Poison Blade], for battlers to better understand the gimmick of Vrick, we imaged the face down cards as bullets, giving the analogy of [reloading] and [shooting] of a bullet, hence designed the effects as [Reload] and [Quick Shot]. Together with the illustration, the card effects can be better understood.

As Vrick is the first contract spirit that can increase counter when it blocks, gain counters while you defend against your opponent’s attack, while loading bullets with [Reload], use the [Quick Shot] of [The Gun Emperor Machine God, Guns Vrick] to penetrate your opponent’s life and attain victory.

On the other hand, the other contract spirit [Partner Cat, Fermat] is designed to gain counter when attacking and using the effect to perform a one shot one kill. At the same time, it can also reference to [Numerals] using its effects.

The [Fermat] deck’s specialty is BS’s first adoption of such effect, activating effects with reference to the number of times summoned. Before deciding to adopt this effect, the members have gone through an in-depth discussion as there will be no indicator of how many times a summon has been performed, not only does the [Fermat] player has to remember the number of times summoned, the opponent also has to take note of the number of times summoned. There may be issues occurred from remembering a different number of times summoned, increasing the difficulty of the game, but once this has been accepted by players, the design of this effect can be diverse. We adopted this idea as it has the value of a challenge. Also, as BS is reaching its 15th Anniversary, the target audience of tertiary education is now at least 20 years old, we feel that adopting a more difficult effect should not be an issue. As this is the first trial of BS, please do reflect any opinions through the questionnaire.

Should the conditions be met, you can attain victory with your opponent having no way to counter. It is a refreshing deck which we urge all battlers to try it out.

Also, [Bladra] that went on the journey with [Wanderer Dan] has became [Wanderer Dan’s Bladra] as a Contract spirit card. As previewed in the previous Producer’s message, we implemented the effect to increase counter when core is being used to maintain spirits when they are summoned. Through this effect, you can gain counters while summoning low cost spirits and attain victory with your mirage’s effect to [Contract Radiant Descent]. Enjoy a speed rush deck with a different playstyle as [Partner Bird, Phoenir]. This is also the first 0 cost Contract spirit, which might have a hidden 0 cost playstyle.

Featuring the 6 Contract spirit cards of Wanderer Dan in their [Super Contract Descent] form. The [Super Contract Descent] may have a tougher Radiant Descent condition as compared to normal, but not only can they retrieve soul core from the trash, they also inherits effects from [Gurova Kaiser] and friends, and having new effects. Try out the contract spirit’s new forms in your decks.

In addition, many mention worthy cards to strengthen Contract user X’s Contract spirit deck like [The Twenty-One Oracle Pillar, Twenty-THE JUDGEMENT] and [Oracle Twenty, Over Judgement] and [Divine Judge of the Flame Sky, Flag Judgement] is also featured in the set. With regards to the next Banned and Restricted list, we considered the game environment after the sales of [Beyond Evolution] and will publish the list after the finals of [Championship 2022]. Unless we find any bugs from new cards of [Beyond Evolution] or any urgent situation, we will not announce any changes. We will also continue to monitor the cards mentioned in the previous Producer’s message.
